I'd better introduce myself properly! Ahem... I am Amelia and I am 12 years old. (Yes, only 12!) and I have quite a lot of sewing experience. I have always like sewing, but my passion for it has grown over the years, I have never enjoyed it as much as I do now! I am a new contender to 'Sew my own Wardrobe' and am loving every moment!
Well, my Grandma used to be a seamstress/alteration hand and I suppose I picked it up from her! Sewwyness must just run in my blood! Whenever I need to finish a project, or a helping hand, I can just pop round to Grandma's and it's sorted in no time! Also, I have done sewing at school since about the age of 9, so our skills are frequently put to the test. I attend weekly sewing classes at school and enjoy using my free time sewing with my friends. We do learn lots through the giggles and many chocolate snacks!
What are my Sewing Inspirations?
I always loved the idea of people making their own clothes as they can be exactly what you want them to be! You would never want to change anything on them because you put them on yourself and you chose them to be that way! And when you go out somewhere, nobody else is wearing them!
I also sew for pleasure, I love the sound of a sewing machine running and I really like whizzing around on small bits of fabric before I begin! I nearly always have a sewing project on the go as I love having something to do and an item to finish!
